Looking Closer at Food Photography

Ah, Food. We love to prepare it. We love to eat it. And we love to photograph it.

In the studio, a  single product on a white plate, for packaging. On location, a chef’s creation on a table at a restaurant.  Twenty feet of display case with dozens of different  entres and deserts. Each, a unique challenge. Each a labor of love.

Look closer and you’ll see that great food photography is group effort.  Planning, propping, grocery shopping, set styling, food styling, composing, lighting, exposing, image processing, retouching, each step can make or break the shot. When it all comes together, mouths water ,the air is filled with “mmmmmmmmmmmm”, and everyone heads for the kitchen to grab a snack. That’s when we know we’ve done our job. The technical term is called, “creating appetite appeal.”

For some, food photography is a stressful ordeal. But it is not for us. We have a comfortable studio, a great kitchen, a superb prop room and very talented people on staff. We’ll work with any chef or food stylist that you like. At home, we all enjoy gathering in the kitchen, with good friends, and cooking up a great meal. This is the attitude we bring to food photography. We are also a great value. Compare our rates to other world class studios and remember, we don’t tack on “usage fees”. So come shoot some food with us and relax.
